When Catch Up is ON, your brush will catch up to your pen position when you stop, and at the end of your stroke when you lift your pen. This can be useful when you are drawing slowly and need total control. When Catch Up is OFF, your brush will only move when you move your pen. When you select this mode, a Catch Up checkbox will appear. A higher amount will produce smoother lines, but will also increase brush lag. You will want to adjust the Amount parameter to your preference. This mode smoothes your line by continuously averaging your previous pen positions, which makes it great for curvy lines with rounded corners. The second mode option in the Position Smoothing section is called Moving Average. Note that with this mode, the line ends as soon as you lift your pen. The brush will only move when the string is fully extended, which makes it easy to draw sharp corners. The longer the string, the less sensitive your brush stroke will be to digital jitter and shakiness of your hand. You can control how long the string is via the String Length parameter slider. It makes your brush behave like if it was attached to a piece of string that you can pull around. This mode is great for slow, detailed line work. The first mode option in the Position Smoothing section is called Pulled String.

Mice are also a lot less precise, so you will likely have to increase the smoothing amounts to get good results. A tablet pen is pressure sensitive, which allows you to control the thickness and/or opacity of your lines.

Lazy Nezumi Pro works with a mouse or a graphics tablet, but for best results, using a tablet is recommended. Then click on the arrow button next to the preset list to expand the UI and see all the different sections. While experimenting with the settings, you can create a new empty preset via the Presets/New menu. Whether you are doing a quick sketch, or working on meticulous line art, you will be able to find settings that will complement your style, and help you work faster. I can provide a video or screen recording if that would be helpful. This tutorial will show you how to use Lazy Nezumi Pro's various smoothing options to get better looking lines.

Sometimes I get those weird trails at the beginning of my strokes if I've just been messing around with LN settings, but that's it. I know for certain it isn't working because it isn't detecting my pen pressure or speed at all.Ī post on the Lazy Nezumi facebook page from just a few days ago seems to imply it at least kind of works on the SP4 so I'm just doing something wrong, right? :/ĮDIT: Here's a screenshot of a little warmup doodle showing what I'm experiencing with the app not picking up or changing my pen strokes at all.

I've been troubleshooting for the full month I've had my SP4 (i7, 8, 256) and cannot find a fix. I also have very unsteady arthritic hands. I only relatively recently switched to Manga Studio and I'm trying to keep my tools sort of the same for this adjustment period.

I know lots of programs have line smoothing and perspective lines but that's not really what I'm trying to accomplish. Now that I'm doing most of my art on the SP4, I'm finding it's either only working for the first line after I hook it to a new window or not at all after. I've been using Lazy Nezumi Pro for a while on my laptop, with Photoshop CS6 (not CC) and Manga Studio 5 EX (Clip Studio Paint).
